This recipe serves 6. It is very easy to do – with a preparation time of less than 10 minutes, but needs to be planned ahead because of the inactive time.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of heavy cream
  • ½ cup of whole milk
  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons of clear honey
  • ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

Preparation

According to the type of ice cream machine: 24 hours before making the frozen yogurt, place the ice cream maker bowl in the freezer – if applicable.

Whisk the heavy cream and milk together in a mixing bowl. Stir in the Greek yogurt, honey and vanilla extract. Place covered to chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Insert the ice cream maker bowl into the ice cream machine. Pour in the mixture, and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Transfer the frozen yogurt to a covered food container and freeze for up to 2 hours or until hard enough to scoop. If the frozen yogurt is left longer in the freezer, remove from the freezer about 15 minutes before serving.

Serve with assorted toppings such as chopped dried (apricots, prunes and dates) and fresh fruits (apple and banana); almond flakes and maple syrup.
