Tel Aviv: seafood and street art

These are 11 #lovelife pictures I took at Tel Aviv around souq HaCarmel last Friday.

Dan and I had such a lovely day. It was full of colours, noises and scents.

We started by lunch at HaBasta (HaShomer street 4), a restaurant in an alley just off souq HaCarmel, with their delicious seafood pasta and a plate of fresh mussels cooked in a cider sauce.

After lunch, we walk the streets around the souq photographing the street art. I took a picture of a stencil from SENED, a very famous Israeli street artist. Dan also took billions of pictures.

We stopped at Beer Bazaar (Rambam street 1), a street bar selling Israeli craft beers. I had a glass of chilled Busters cider, which is family produced in the hills of Jerusalem. At the moment of paying, they gave gummy candies with the bill and I ate both. Not proud about it.

Because it was Friday, the souq was lively and full of people – it is way more quiet during the week. Many booths sell street food. Next time, we will have to try one of them. The ambience reminded us of Borough Market in London.

Carmella, one of souq fruits and veg stores, was selling edible flowers for salad. Need to look more into it!

After the souq, we walk along the beach, and stayed there until after sunset.

One of the last pictures I took is of a graffiti saying “go places, do things”. This quote could not have been more suited to describe the day we just had.
