This is the recipe for a papaya and lime smoothie. Great to start the day, papaya is an excellent source of vitamin C, as is lime. The fruit is also a very good source of folate, and a good source of vitamins A and B5 (pantothenic acid), dietary fibre, magnesium, potassium, and copper.
I used in this recipe an Aurora papaya. This type of papayas, grown in Israel, are seedless without gene manipulation through natural selection and crossing different varieties.
The quantities here make two large glasses. It’s ready in 10 minutes or so.
Ingredients
- 1 small papaya, seeded, peeled and diced
- Juice of a freshly squeezed lime
- ½ (frozen) banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
- 1 cup of milk
- ¼ plain or Greek yogurt
- Ice
Preparation
Combine the papaya, lime juice, banana, flaxseed and milk in the blender, and pulse for a few seconds. Add the yogurt and ice, and blend until smooth.
Pour into two glasses. (Clean the blender straight away.)
If you want, decorate with a lime slice (and a straw maybe), and enjoy!
hmmm wow amazing and healthy juice.
Thank you Anna!
