Here are few pictures that I took of Petah Tikva, where Dan and I live. The city is located at about 10 km east of Tel Aviv. Founded in 1878, Petah Tikva is home today to some 200,000 people, and thousands of cats and dogs. It’s the third largest city in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area.
We live in the old Petah Tikva city centre, mainly constructed with 70s and 80s buildings. The souq is located at a short 10 minute walk from home, which is handy for me to do food shopping – except when it’s 40 degrees outside, and I have to carry everything back…
Petah Tikva is not a pretty city, but has a lot of charm. And I like it.

A 70s building with mosaic decorations. The Ethiopian store at the souq sells green coffee beans (not pictured!) for home roasting.

Having a pint of ice coffee with my lovely friend Anna at Miki Bakery. In Petah Tikva, people seem to like pink (for building painting).

Some cities have pigeons. Petah Tikva has pigeons and parrots. And a lot of clothes drying at the windows.
